!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that the Chevy Blazer is coming back as a crossover to be slotted between the Equinox ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) and the Traverse. Does Chevy really need 3 crossovers in that range? How much will it cannibalize sales of the Equinox and Traverse?

I wish I was a full size like the K5 and 2 door Tahoe

Looks like it’ll be Chi, just like the Traverse.

GM is shuffling around the crossover lineup, my guess is that the Blazer will be sized like the new Acadia (which shrunk a lot) while the Traverse will likely grow in size. If they shrink the equinox back into the segment where the CRV and RAV4 play, there will be a hole in the midsized segment (assuming the traverse does grow a little...maybe it just goes away)

Sounds like it’s staying put (but maybe getting a little bigger). They’ll probably both be on the Chi platform.

I’m thinking it’ll be a rebadge Holden/Chevy Trailblazer, considering the new Bronco is probably going to be the Everest.

Sure doesn’t look like it in the photos. Looks pretty much like a rebadged Acadia.

I’d be happy if they brought out another BoF midsize with, I dunno, an I6 somewhere between 4.2 and 4.5L

Endorsed.

“BoF” and “midsize” are never in the same sentence nowadays.

The pie isn’t really sliced, as much as thrown at the face of the market.
They make 20 variants from the same body/frame/engine options and see what sticks.

Consider the sedans Chevy makes:
B-segment: Sonic
C-segment: Cruze
D-segment: Malibu
E-segment: Impala
Now consider the CUV lineup Chevy is likely putting together:
B-segment: Trax
C-segment: Equinox
D-segment: this thing
E-segment: Traverse
Since CUVs are starting to overtake sedans in popularity, we can expect to see CUVs in every size class from every volume marque pretty soon.

Okay... so in summary, the CUV/SUV line will be (from largest to smallest)... Suburban > Tahoe > Traverse > Blazer > Equinox > Trax
What about the Captiva??? Now it’s guaranteed we will never get the Captiva!!!

The Captiva was just a quick badge job on leftover Saturn Vue bodies, wasn’t it?

That actually makes a lot of sense

Nah... You’re thinking of the “Captiva Sport”

The Captiva is an Daewoo-designed vehicle mainly sold in Europe and Asia.
